Access Fund work in Texas
- Work with Texas climbers statewide regarding taxing initiatives to support state parks including Hueco Tanks and Enchanted Rock. Work includes lobbying at the state capitol and meeting with various climbing advocates including thoise at Hueco Tansk and the Central Texas Mountaineers. Potentially at stake is the transfer of Hueco Tanks to the Texas Historcal Commission which could increase climbing access restrictions.

- Attended Hueco Rock Rodeo event to educate climbers, advocate the Access Fund’s position and strategy and meet with park staff regarding the current status of access and potential threats to climbing at Hueco Tanks.

- Issued an Action Alert informing climbers to voice their support for Travis County’s acquisition of Reimers Ranch, TX. Wrote letters of support to county commissioners and citizens bond advisory committee members. (2005)
- Created an action alert for Central Texas Mountaineers concerning attending local meetings to weigh-in on the creation of a new park that would include climbing. (2005)
- Attended the Hueco Rock Rodeo to promote the Boulder Project. The RR is organized and hosted by Rob Rice of the Climbers of Hueco Tanks. (2004)
- Hueco Tanks, TX. Continued to offer support to Hueco Tanks State Historical Park (HTSHP) for resource protection, trail improvements, and climber education. Provided support for Climbers of Hueco Tanks staff to attended crucial management meetings, and obtained recognition from HTSHP that Hueco is one of the world's premier bouldering sites which is unique and should be preserved. - Assisted the formation of the Climber's of Hueco Tanks. The group will focus on climber education and stewardship projects at Hueco. Held a climbers meeting at Hueco to hear the concerns of the bouldering community. (2003)
- Worked with cultural resource consultants to find positive solutions to protect archaeological and historical values at Hueco Tanks (TX) (2002)
- Hueco Tanks, TX. Continued to offer support to Hueco Tanks for resource protection, trail improvements, and climber education. (2002)
- Published a “Hueco Tanks Survivor’s Guide” designed to assist boulderers in negotiating Hueco’s complicated tangle of restrictions and reservations requirements. (2002)
- Provided a $2,000 grant to support the formation of the Climber’s of Hueco Tanks. The group will focus on climber education and stewardship projects at Hueco. (2002)
